PRP Microneedling (Platelet Rich Plasma) in Maui, HI

Microneedling Therapy also called Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT), and Percutaneous Collagen Induction (PCI), is a minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation procedure that involves the use of a medical micro-needling pen that uses small surgical grade stainless steel needles to puncture the skin to create a controlled injury at a specific depth. Each puncture creates a channel that triggers the body’s natural healing process to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis.

In addition, new capillaries are formed for improved blood supply.
Microneedling results in the production of new collagen and elastin, improvement in skin tone and texture, firmness as well as reduction in sun damage, scars, pore size, and stretch marks.

The micro-channels created by the needles allow for deeper penetrations of topical serums for more effective results. This procedure can increase the skin’s ability to utilize the nutrients by up to 3,000%. The rejuvenation action that is started by the micro-wounds is dramatically enhanced by adding growth factors contained in PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) and/or perinatal Exosomes. Studies have shown significant skin rejuvenation when either of these is combined with the microneedling procedure. For more information about the power of PRP, click here.

Exosome Facials greatly surpass the popular “Vampire Facial” that uses PRP with Microneedling.
Mesenchymal-stem cell (MSC)-derived Exosomes are small, but extremely powerful packages of signaling messages that contain active growth factors responsible for rebuilding and rejuvenating damaged connective tissue. Our Exosomes are sourced from very young stem cells which gives them a significant advantage in tissue regeneration and remodeling. We use purified Exosomes as a powerful alternative to PRP for microneedling. Another benefit is that Exosome Facials can be done in the comfort of your own home. Frequently Asked Questions

While results can be seen after 1 treatment, most people require 3-4 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart to achieve the desired results.

Before the procedure, the treatment area will be cleansed and a topical numbing agent will be applied. If you are adding PRP to your procedure – your blood will be drawn and processed while the numbing cream is taking effect.

After the procedure, your skin will be very red for several hours – this is normal. The micro-channels produced in the skin will close after about 1 hour and the redness will subside after around 24-48 hours.

You should avoid direct sun exposure for the first 24 hours and prolonged sun exposure is not recommended for the first 3-5 days. However, you will not have the same sun sensitivity you would have after a laser procedure. Mineral-based SPF 30+ sunblock (not chemical sunscreen) is recommended and can be applied after 24 hours. Mineral-based makeup can also be applied after 24 hours.

You will want to refrain from wearing anything with chemicals or perfumes as your skin will be more porous and will absorb chemicals more readily. You will also need to avoid swimming and sweating for the first 24 hours. After that, you will be free to resume all normal activities.
